Monthly Recollection Opens Advent Season in IHMS
On November 29-30, 2024, Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary (IHMS) held a two-day recollection for the College and Propaedeutic Departments. The theme of this month’s recollection focused on Advent—a season of preparation for the coming of Christ. The Talidhay class sponsored the recollection.
It commenced on the afternoon of Nov. 29 at 5:45 p.m. with a Magnum Silentium. At 6 p.m., Holy Hour was observed and supper followed right after. The first night of recollection ended with a film entitled “Letters at Christmas.”This film shows how love and dedication can mend broken relationships.
The second day began with a solemn procession at 4:30 a.m. through the streets of Taloto, accompanied by former Spiritual Director Rev. Fr. Christian Josua Florenosos. During the procession, the recitation of the Holy Rosary and the singing of Marian hymns were done. Lauds took place right after. Then it was followed by a mass presided over by Fr. Garry Nathaniel Guiritan. The highlight of the recollection’s final day was a talk by Sem. Rene Ruiz, pre-deacon of the Diocese of Tagbilaran, as he shared his insights on the true essence of advent.
The talk ended at approximately 9:30 a.m. and class sharing was done right after. Personal time with the Lord ushered in the end of the recollection right before lunch.
