IHMS Holds Monthly Recollection
The Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary (IHMS) seminarians held a two-day monthly recollection held at the college chapel on September 13-14, 2024 to foster deeper spiritual awareness in their journey of faith.
Throughout the two days, the seminarians underwent spiritual exercises, GKK sharings, and individual prayer time. Notable sessions included a talk by Sem. Lord A. Rollorata, who shared his insights regarding spiritual discipline and on the importance of Marian devotions, specifically, The Lady of Mount Carmel.
One of the highlights of the recollection was the brown scapular investiture administered by Rev. Fr. Absalon B. Florenosos, rector. Brown Scapular is a religious garment worn by members of the Carmelite Order, the Discalced Carmelite Order, and the devotees to Our Lady. It is a symbol of faith, a sacramental with the commitment to live the devotion.
“This recollection allowed me to strive to have deeper devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary,” shared Sem. Fergus Jeremiah Tariga, a second-year student.
The two-day monthly recollection is not just a routine for the seminarians; it is a great help for them to align their hearts and minds as they prepare for their future ministry.
