IHMS Conducts Fire and Earthquake Drills

On September 26, 2024, Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary participated in the national simultaneous earthquake drill. The institution also held a fire drill afterward.The drills aimed to teach everyone essential safety protocol, enhance safety preparedness, and prepare students for potential fire and earthquake occurrences. At 8:58 AM, Dr. Maria Annalissa J. Babera, IHMS high school principal, instructed the students to be in their respective classrooms. At 9:00 AM, the bell sounded and the earthquake drill began. The students immediately executed the "duck, cover, and hold" position until the bell stopped. Following the drill guidelines, the students evacuated to the safe areas. The fire drill followed immediately. The seminarians left their classrooms and participated in various activities like doing bucket relay and acting as firefighters and rescuers. The drills concluded successfully. Afterward, Dr. Maria Analissa J. Babera, Ph.D., Rev. Fr. Absalon B Florenosos, Rev. Fr. Christian Josua Florenosos, Rev. Fr. Bernadine Jade Dione Balite, Sem. Jirex Jose Mejares (Commissioner on Discipline), and Sem. Lord Rollorata (Commissioner on Health) conducted the evaluation.
